Any one had any experience of dog pee (bitches in particular) causing problems on concrete slabs? The surface of the slabs on our patio has started to deteriate and breakup with aggregate showing through. It is about 4 years old - sorry cannot remember the make. It is not a big problem but sufficient to notice. The areas it is breaking up does seem to conincide with the area where the pee collects.

I am just trying to see if this is the cause so we can warn any customers we have of this issue in the future.

Two solutions:

1 - shoot the dogs (my preferred option - I hate dogs)

2 - seal the flags with a quality urethane sealant that will penetrate and protect the surface from the acidic dog pee.
