I need to prepare a base (15' x13') for a log cabin and I am unsure what to do.

I have a load of 3' x 2' x 2" concrete slabs which I could use but I don't know how to lay them.

The ground slopes about 3" over the distance I need and some of the ground is an old flower border so it's not compacted at all.

I would appreciate any advice anyone could give me on how to prepare a base using slabs, or should I just do a concrete hardstanding?

Advice and guidance on laying flags, including 3x2s, is given on the main website. However, given the slope of your site, it might be better to use those flags to create a flag-on-edge retainer (also described on the main site) and create a concrete base once you've built up the levels.

As with many questions of this types, without seeing the site, it's very difficult to give specific advice, but if you read the website, you'll probably find sufficient info on a number of strategies.
