I've read in some trade catalogues that levelling pegs are a good tool to help with the all important levels. Does anyone know if they are readily available and where from?

Don't waste your money.
Get yourself a length of 10mm rebar and cut it into lengths of 500mm and voila - levelling pegs.

Rebar? Is that the rods used to strengthen concrete? If so is it widely available?

Thanks in advance.

Yes you can get it from a Builders Merchant. Comes in 6m legnths. They might cut it down for you but take a hacksaw just to be on the safe side.

well i get mine from a local concrete products supplier they have it for all lintels and stuff they use i get about 30 to 40 pegs for a £5 and they cut em there while u wait.

You could try your local steel stockist also check yellow pages in your area.

i use rebar pegs all the time for footings too they are better than wood because you can drive em through any rocky soil.

good luck m8

cheers chaps,

half way through the job now and the rebar has worked fine.

Just wish these thunder storms would stop so i can get a bit of unbroken work done.

oh and they'd invent some magical levelling machine that got your flags to the perfect level and stopped them rocking :D
