The website is a real help for us novices - thanks!
I'm planning a path to meander down our garden, across a lawn. I plan to mow over it when finished so the final level will be slightly lower than the grass.
Sub-grade here is heavy clay so I was planning to compact a 100mm type 1 sub-base, then lay 600x600x50 concrete slabs on a 50mm bed of sharp sand. Two questions for the experts out there:
(a) Is this going over the top for a domestic path?
(b) Is edging / haunching necessary for a path like this?
All advice welcome.
Thanks - Rob
