Hi all.
I am about to embark on a relatively large garden project and would really appreciate some advice. I will be laying a circular patio (2.85m) and approximately 25 square metres of paving/paths. The paving and patio is Indian Sandstone.
Any response to the following questions would be greatly appreciated.
- Once the ground has been leveled and the patio area etc mapped out, i shall be laying a base of hardcore. Should I lay a bed of sand on top of the hardcore and if so, how much would I need to order for the area i will be working with? ( the hardcore will come from all the old concrete paths that are being removed from the garden and crushed).
- What sort of mortar mix should I use for this type of job? There wont be any heavy traffic but the paths etc will be used fairly often.
- How should I go about grouting once the slabs are laid? Should I use a dry concrete mix as the slabs are a fairly light colour and may get stained quite easily.
Any help and further advice would be great. My wife and Ground Force have a lot to answer for!!! ???
