Hi everyone,

I'm laying a front path of 2x2 textured slabs through gravel. I want to edge with sawtooth blue bricks but I'm wondering how I can achieve drainage for any surface water. I'd rather not use the front door as a drain!

Many thanks in advance for anyone's help.

Surface water will escape through the dry joints between the bricks of the saw-tooth edging, won't it?

Hi Tony,

Of course! Thanks for reminding me of the obvious! Would there be any harm in placing a few holed bricks among the solids on the fall edge just to get water off quicker in the event of a downpour (I'm laying them on edge)?

"Holed" as in 'frogged'? Wouldn't it look odd? Besides, I don't think you'd have problem using the bricks in the 'normal' way.
