I'm doing my first patio and using Stoneflair purestone flags. I'm using a 150mm sub-base as I need to raise the level, but after reading this site (excellent source if info BTW), I'm still confused as to which bedding is best.
Would the semi-dry mix be ok for these flags? or do they require a full mortar bed (as recommended by the manufacturer)?
If full mortar bed is required, would this be the 2xbuilding sand/2xgrit sand/1xcement mix?
Many thanks.

Personally I prefer a full mortar bed for Purestone paving but its all down to personal choice though. As your down in my neck of the woods did you purchase the flagstones from AWBS by any chance.

Haven't bought the flags yet, but am about to order from AWBS yes.
Are you asking just out of interest, or out of concern!?
Is this a good mix for a full mortar bed?
2xbuilding sand/2xgrit sand/1xcement

I guessed AWBS because that's the only Stoneflair supplier i know of locally. There's nowt wrong with em though and have kept my business supplied since they opened.
Just be aware that the colours you see laid in the four bays sometimes vary to what actually gets delivered due to natural variations.
Your suggested mix will be fine.

Excellent, had me worried there for a moment!
I've looked around the local suppliers and they seem very good.
Thanks for the advice.
