The patio I am building slopes towards a drain in a circular fashion (making a very shallow half cone, the slope is 1:60)

I have put down a 2" bed of 1/2" to dust onto the clay base and plan to lay 1" of sharp sand on top of this, compact then screed.

This is where my question lies, I was planning on laying out screeding rails in a 'fan' pattern radiating from the drain. However this will leave me with v's between each section. Will this cause me a problem when I come to lay the slabs?

The patio is going to be used for light traffic only.

You should arrange your screed rails around the circumference and then screed from point of origin (centre of circle) out to the circumference, swinging the screeder board around in an arc, rather than dragging it out from origin to circumference.
