Hello Toni
I am curently about to lay my first patio. We will use bradstone old town flags laid on 30mm sand, There is no edge course and there will be a step off the patio on to lawn. I had planed on building a block 100mm high around edge and laying the outside flag with morter on to this. Would this be acceptable? the outside flag would be partially laid on mortor and the rset laid on sand would the sand settle over time and break the mortor joint?. It would be much appreciated if you could give any advice on this
Regards

P.S is it possible to attach a dxf file to a post

Why not just lay all the flags on the 10:1 bedding mix? It's easier than laying most of the flags on sand and then the edge units on mortar.

There's a page dealing with laying flags to free edges that you might find useful.

You can't post dxf files here, mainly because not everyone has the requisite software to read them, but you can send them to me for conversion to gif format and I'll post them on your behalf.
