Soon to be paving a 60 square metre area with yorkstone riven paving in weathered bronze, I will be attempting this in two sections, Garden completely paved with linear drainage and a step in the middle to divde garden and help drainage, However I am unsure as to what mix ratio I should be using for bedding the paving, I have layed 40mm dolomite on one half of the garden (awaiting copmpaction) and this will be walked on only, no cars. 1) what ratio and 2) is it sharp sand I use?
Thanks in advance.

Use a 10:1 mix of sharp sand and cement, or 5 volumes of sharp sand to 5 volumes of 10mm gravel to 1 volume of cement, if you prefer.

Have you read the Laying Flags page?
