I had some paths laid about 3 years ago in the back garden as part of a landscaping project. One of the slabs at the end of the path has broken and needs to be replaced. It appears to be a Wentworth riven slab 450mm square. My local Wickes store has every size except 450 sq and needless to say the firm that did the original work has gone belly up! Does anyone know if (a) Wentworth is exclusive to Wickes, or available elsewhere and (b) Can you still get a 450mm square slab.

Would be grateful for some help as I am fed up with tripping over!

I don't have a Wickes catalogue but I seem to recall that the Wickes Wentworth bears an uncanny resemblence to Marshalls' Calder Brown Heritage.

Does anyone have any images or am I going to have to traipse over to t'other side of Warrington to get meself a Wickes catalogue?

Thanks for that. I've just had a look on Marshall's website and their Heritage does indeed look pretty much the same. Come to think of it, when I asked the people in Wickes who made them, they said Marshalls but when I checked on the Marshalls website they didn't have a range called Wentworth, so I was put off the trail.

There are a couple of local Marshall stockists, so I will try to get one at the weekend.

No traipsing required (yet!)

I know that Marshalls used to make the block pavers sold by Wickes (they may still do - I haven't been in a Wickes for yonks!) so it's pretty likely that the "Wentworth" is a badged version of the Heritage.

Many of the larger manufacturers supply the DIY sheds, and some of the larger BM chains, with 'own-brand' paving. In some cases, they cut down on the dyes, or the cement content to produce an 'economy' version, but some of the better products are identical in every way to the manufacturer's own brands.
