My new home is on the top of a hill with a 14' drop, the only thing I can think to do with it is a staggered patio.
Any design ideas or tips?

Terrace it!
It all depends on the 'run' you have for this 14 foot drop (4.3m in real money!). If it's a 1:2 gradient, it's more of a challenge than summat like, say, a 1:6 gradient.
