I am hoping to lay an Indian stone raised patio instead of having steps out of 2 doors down onto a lower level patio. The problem is that on one adjoining wall the damp proof course is quite low and ideally I would like to bring the patio level up to the damp proof level. I wondered if there were any solutions that would enable me to do this. I have thought about a) fixing damp proofing vertically along the wall between the paving and the wall leaving a few inches of damp proffing showing above the patio level b) having a channel/drain below the damp proof course so there is a drop of level between the patio and the wall... though I'm not sure this will look okay.
Any advice welcome! Thanks, Mark
