I have already bought slate paving which I intend to lay on a concrete base. Could any one advise me on the best mortar mix that I should use. The slate is for patio use. Also how can I cut a curve in the slabs? I will really really be eternally grateful if you could get me out of this predicament!
Your site was recommended to me by Rock Unique Ltd and i have found it quite interesting so far and i have not even surfed the whole site yet.
Thankyou in advance.

Use a Class II mortar, as described on the Mortars page.

Cutting a curve is best achieved using a power saw or a nangle grinder, and then fettle the edge with a few light taps from a hammer, if the rest of the paving has fettled edges.
