Please can anyone suggest a cleaning solution for the removal of concrete residue from my patio slabs. The men who laid the patio had allowed it to dry and I have tried pressure cleaning to no avail.
Your advice would be most appreciated...

If you have lumps or snots of cement on your slabs try tapping them gently with a hammer but dont damage the slabs, that way you break down the lumps which then you can pressure wash off the residue easier. If that fails try using a watered down acid solution which you should apply all over your patio using a decorators roller on a pole. Then wash over all your patio. This method means any discoloration will be evenly spread and not patchy.

Kris is right - use a diulte Brick Cleaning Acid (Hydrochloric, sometime called Muriatic) which you can get from a decent BM. BE CAREFUL - it's nasty stuff and will take the skin off your hands if splashed about willy-nilly.

There's more info on cleaning cement stains on the Dealing with Stains page of the main site.
