I tried filling the Gaps in between the slabs with cement and now the excess powder has stained the slabs so they look awful, is there a product available in the UK that will get it off and restore the colour of the slabs?

When you say "cement", Paul, do you actually mean cement, or do you mean "mortar"? Flags should be pointed with a mortar.

Remove the worst of the staining using a wire brush or similar, then, as a last resort, use brick cleaning acid, which you can buy from most BMs.
