Anyone know of this roughcasting technique, and any good tips on what machines,mixes to use etc

Tyrolean is not really a paving technique, but, when it's been done on projects I've managed, it's done using a hand-operated roughcast machine that 'flicks' the mortar onto the prepared wall. A plasterer would know better, but, AFAIK, a PVA-enhanced 4:1 mortar is used. Ask your local builder or at a BM.

AFAIK - As Far As I Know :)
Don't worry about the topic placement, it's not important. What I meant was that roughcasting isn't really my trade, and is not something I feel qualified to comment upon.
How did it go, anyway?
