Bradstone Woburn Block Paving Mix

Post: # 119990Post posting0483

I'm going to be doing the driveway soon (70m2) and will be laying Bradstone Woburn Rumbled block paving. I will be using there smallest blocks for edging (as a soldier course) then blocks will be laid in rows, using a random mix of the 3 block sizes available (100 x 134mm, 134 x 134mm, 200 x 134mm).

Each size comes in separate packs rather than pre-mixed so my question is what mix of these block sizes should I roughly be aiming for when buying the packs? I've heard 3 large, 2 medium and 1 small from the builders yard but this would mean that half of the drive is done in large blocks, is this correct or just preferred to speed up laying them as there are less blocks to handle? I'm doing this myself so not fussed about it taking a little longer, just want it to look right once finished.

Recommended Ratio when laying in a random stretcher bond pattern - 2:2:1 (Large:Medium:Small)
