Best method of repointing resin joints.

Afternoon,

Over the next few weeks I plan to tidy up our patio. The jointing, which is the EASyjoints resin type, has worn down in most areas, or has softened and turn to a more sandy consistency.

In some areas it scrapes out quite easily, but in others it is more resistant and seems like I just need to scrap about the top 3/4 mm out. I plan to repoint with the same product.
Has anyone got any advice on this task?

Do I really need to dig out all of the joint to the full depth?

Are you sure it was easyjoint used previous? If so, were instructions followed? I.e. a free flowing joint used so they can drain? Having used this stuff, I have not had any failures. What you describe sounds more like geo fix or rompox

if you are going to repoint the joints must be cleared out to the required depths
a top up of 3-4 mm will fail again
rule of thumb for pointing is that the depth should be twice as much as the width
so if its a 12mm joint you need 25mm depth
