Hi all,
Could anyone please tell me where I can hire a sliding wet saw to cut porcelain 900mm tiles. Preferably as close to Preston, lancs as possible.

Thanks for the reply. I have had a look at has and don't think there cutter will do the 900 length cuts. Do you think a straight edge and Stihl saw would get reasonable results?

Yes, but you must use water and a proper porcelain blade.!

Thanks for the replies guys, much appreciated. Another thing maybe you can help me with. The patio is raised so will have a slight over hanging edge. Can this edge be chamfered with a disk as you would expect I don't want any sharp edges. Cheers.

You can try chamfering them, but it's an expensive error when it goes awry.
Some suppliers offer a bull-nosed or chamfered version of their porcelain offer for just such applications, so I'd check with them first.
Alternatively, the aforementioned Tiler's Tools has a sister company that will do any trimming and detailing for you on their in-house professional kit and provide you with 'ready to lay' edge pices, step trears, gully surrounds or whatever you desire.
Ask for Jim and tell him I suggested you contact them....

Thanks for the reply Tony. Much appreciated. When I say chamfer I only really mean dressing the edge so it's not sharp. Can this be done with a diamond polishing pad for example and I would also like to smooth any saw marks from the exposed cut face of the tile. Is this practical in your experience?
Also I have access to saws from 115m up to Stihl saw size. I'm well aware I need to buy good quality porcelain blades, but could you tell me what size I'm best using. All cuts will be straight and up to a tile length of 800 mm.
