I ended up biting the bullet and buying the top bosch I could. It just about cuts through 120mm sleepers, which is a godsend for getting neat corners. Brought a metabo stand to go with it.

Pingtek saw stands?
I've mounted mine on my old evolution saw stand and it work fine.
Bloody love using it.
The only downside to it I can find is it's unbeleivably loud and it has a slight kick back action where it's so powerful.
Dan, yeah I considered all the options and was very tempted to go with Bosch but the reviews and price of this one was too good. I have no regrets. It will cut an 8 x4 sleeper too, though I usually use a chainsaw for sleepers. I like the look of rough cut lap joints in sleepers anyhow.

Our sleepers tend to be 10 x 5, so yours wont quite do them

Thats the same one as mine, except mine is the 12sd, just a bigger blade I think. Mine managed to cut into the metal stop guide at 45 degrees though
