My tipper died so I'm pxing it!

Want a crew cab tipper instead. The insurance has gone up and also can't be carried over cos it's classed as a different vehicle type. I intend to take the seats of the crew area to use for tool storage but I'm being told this again increases the insurance as it is classed as a modification.

So in summary all I want is to have a crew cab tipper modified as a 3 seater i.e not too dissimilar to the vehicle I already have. It seems the insurance company are trying to squeeze me for everything they can get.

Can anyone advise me?

Cheers

The problem with insurance is you need to shop around every renewal date, just like all bills.

Also any mods you don't declare will cause you probs in the future possibly, and mods you do will increase your premium.

Have you considered a big box on the back of it or on the sides to store your stuff, also this would be more secure with a decent lock/box

I have no claims for trade, private and commercial vehicle insurance, if a van is commercial my no claims apply. Something sounds wrong there, shop around, also check out tippers with roller shutters

I have done this with my crew cab cabstar. Removed seats and rear heater, put in a steel floor and shelf. Insurance company did not care. Nfu all the way!

Yeah I guess it is. I've had a pretty shit last year and this one so far so a bit of leverage is always nice.
