ts400 im using starts and runs well most of time but now and again refuses to start. filters could do with a clean but the saw seems to have plenty of power. only note is the choke is needed to turn it off and wondered if this could be the problem?

yeh that would be a good answer. unfortunatly the only bit of kit that gets serviced on site is the 13 tonners. its only just started doing it. the saw is 5 years old and theres no other problem with it which is typical with these machines. cold start it starts after 5 pulls and 1-2 pulls when the engine is warm but it has the odd moment when it dosent start atall which seems very unusual. ???

You say you have to turn it off with the choke? Does that mean the on/off button is not working? If so, the switch could be shorting to ground and the saw will not run.

When mine does this (as in wont turn off) I just give the switch a good clean to get all the dirt out of it and the thing turns off then for the next few months.
