If it was me i wouldnt of been running the machine when half the cab was submerged with water, air intake must be high up on the cat?

I was surprised to see the heavy lifting crane go across the field
my mate drives a 40 tonner and he reckons they cannot leave a proper paved road
what do you reckon that cost in total giles? 5 k euro?
I suppose its worth it for a 100k machine

It's was 2 days minimum, that crane would be 5k for the recovery alone
Then the heavy truck to take it away 500 euro
Pumps, other machines, tracked dumpers job stopped, fixing the banking, temporary rd for the crane etc.
Excluding the repairs to the machine I bet it was 10-15k recovery on a 150k machine, not to mention fines etc for messing up waterway etc
Bad day for them

They were trying to get it out so best to keep it running, see the guy sat with engine open think he was running the throttles the electric throttle would have gone, yeah intakes are high up but not normally that high up. Big machine as well

What mess in Edinburgh? lol I hate driving through the town with all those temporary diversions, its bloody hellish!

I used to know Edinburgh well through work/nights out etc but now every route around the city is closed or has a diversion.

That was a good watch! Lovely sounding Cat and an even better sounding crane at full pull.
Id say a crane of that size/weight would be £10k.
I also guess the H&S consultant wasn't on site during the recovery, numerous (unnecessary) dangerous actions noted!
Good to see it come out in the end though. Shame it was dark!

I would imagine it has, given the soft ground and rainfall we've had lately.
Will probably venture over there again soon and see!
Tis a sad sight though....
