Is the creter “compact concrete mixer of any use?

It looks like it may be an easy way to mix small amounts concrete and mortar, but has anyone tried one?

Also I recall seeing years ago a small “drum that you put the sand, cement, etc in then just rolled about – it had blades on the inside. I have not seen the drum on the market for some time, so I assume it did not catch on.

For knocking up small batches of lean mix it's probably quite good but anything requiring consistency and strength then a mixer would be better. One for the diyer but not worth the space in the van for a pro.

Might be good the day after a curry, pebble dash that instead of clients crapper... Other than that.. I got a mixer, my labourer can use it alone and clean it.

the fact the creter is being sold on a home shopping channel confirms my worst suspicions
it may be handy for a diyer but so is a spot board

Before buying wouldn't it be worthwile using a bit of tarp to see if it works first.
The video shows two people, I reckon it would be difficult with just one.

my grandad years ago brought a device which was basically a 25litre plastic barrell with moulded paddles inside. Idea was you put all your ingrediants in, shut the lid and rolled it about on the floor.
I have to say, it did work well, and ideal for him as he was in his 80's at the time, so hand mixing was hard work.

you don't see them around now though

for me, it is the mixer, or for putting in the odd post, a barrow and a shovel
