which micro lads think its time we got one...
my dad bid on a jcb one but i talked him out of it at auction the other day.
so im thinking kubota, tak and yanmar....
although the bota looking the best and trying to harmonise our minis to one brand. but the tacks get a very good review..., had yanmars before and they were fanstatic machines never failed to start first time in 14 years.
opinions please

why is he flogging it 3 weeks later?

My kobelco or now new holland sk09, 750mm wide out to 900mm
full servo joysticks ,yanmar 3 cylinder engine,owned it 7 years 1600 hours still tight and good,1 battery in that time serviced every 300 hours,
JCB micros are to clumsy and sit up and beg levers,

Thats a tidy machine but the rops would be a nightmare in tight spaces and would constantly be catching on things. I like the Tak's over the Kubota's they're more ergonomic and straight forward they also have a fast track which makes them a winner for me. Big lads like us look stupid on them though and the controls are the sme as larger machines just closer together. I hate yanmars they may be reliable but the small ones don't offsett well and the dipper arm is really short making them slow and awkward. I find the cabs on the larger ones have lots of blind spots at eye level to.

Im a fan of the zero tailswing kubota micro, fantastic little machine, i have drove a machine just like DDD's and that two was pretty good.

Took mine off 2 day, been back on once on a keir job

good spot, and he got a trailer with it, but i meant more the machine than that specific auction sorry. i liked the joystick controls more than the levers...

Im a big fan of the takeuchi machines,they are great, very smooth etc. myheart says tak, but my business head says go for the kubota. You cant deny the build quality of parts etc. kingpins are good, great kubota diesel, good power too. I think ive mentioned before i prefer the 008 over a u10 as its better balanced, especially if you like to use a 600 bucket, ( its suggested that this size bucket is too large for a micro but ive never had an issue with the 008's)
Dont even consider the jcb or airmann

The k008-3 which replaces my k008 is the one.
The u10 is 50mm wider, and you would be surprised at how many tight side entrances the 700mm machine has to go through, sometimes scraping through!
i can confirm that in 9 years and 2000 hours the follwing has gone wrong:
new battery
new front idlers
new tracks at 1200 hours (but they would have done another 300 or so)
Thats it apart from routine servicing
on the subject of roll bars, i like to drive mine up ramps onto the back of the cabstar. that roll bar could save my life if the ramps ever slip or break, as a machine falling onto you from that height is not going to be pretty!
the issue with a 600 bucket is fine. i have a 600 riddling bucket, and loaded with rubble, its fine. just dont swing round full stretch with a load!

have used one on hire very good well balanced micro,also have owned 2 sk09s like msh both very good machines,one or two more manufacturers are bringing micros out with joysticks now hanix is one
