amazes me that plant isnt tracker protected in some way to alert when moved out of hours

It probably was, and then disabled before being nicked. Sounds like they have been nicking machinery up and down the country so they must know what they're doing, be well organished, good at what they do and have the tools to pull it off.

With keys and low-loaders to get the kit up on the M5 PDQ - yeah they've gotta be pretty well organised.

A few have gone recently in Leeds, new paver(middle of the day from a petrol station they had just surfaced) and a huge loading shovel from a quarry.

Can't be 2 careful these days.....i keep all my plant in the back garden, block the rollers and trailers off with the skid-steer and digger, whip the battery's off then block them in with both wagons then let the air out the wagons.

Pain in the arse on a morning like :D
