can anyone clarify if you can drive a 7.5 ton truck on a car licence?

not too clear from that. my belief is that if you have passed your car licence before a certain year you are ok ,but i cant find it in writing anywhere

Your licence will state whether you are entitled to or not if you are pre 97 then yes you are but can't tow. If it staes you have a C or C1 entitlement then you're fine but you are limited to a 750kg trailer you need a +E on it for anything heavier.

yeah its 1997, i passed 3 weeks after they changed it so i cant drive a 7.5t.. pain in the arse. that said even if i could drive 7.5t i cant get an operators license nyway due to the massive cost and need of a suitable yard tht fits criteria.. the small man in the UK cant really get ahead these days
