Some TP's Branches do a contractors Barrow. Good quality Galv Barrow with a big capacity. Think they are about £60.00. Only problem is being deeper than the norm a full barrow of wet Muck is a bit heavy to tip onto the van/side of skip.

The same reason nothing is built to last, Planned Obsolescence.

I have a fleet of the tp 4 cu. ft. ones, 33% more volume = less trips. Seemples. Higher centre of gravity means they are a b*gger on a scaffy up a skip (apparently, we never do that of course!!)

I had a couple of punctures last year, couldn't get them up to the tyre place so by chance popped into TP, £9 inc vat = new wheel and tyre, excellent.
Found another one at the back of the unit, with a terminal flat last week. Went to travis, one of the lads jumped out and nabbed a wheel on my account.
Went ballistic yesterday when I got the invoicxe last night £24.38 including VAT. Thats the last time we ever buy something on account without checking the price first, couldn't believe it.

Buying on account without haggling is deadly. Bypasses the whole point of having an account in the first place. Might as well walk in with an open jar of vaseline!!!

there are a couple of old boys over the allotments who have 30-40 yr old barrows
you wouldnt believe how muych they weigh and how sturday they are
proper thick 3mm steel,bracing everywhere
reckon they would be £100 each now days
i like the hammerlin i f the access is wide
but they are all pants in terms of durability nowdays
