I have just pointed up some indian stone (brought from london paving) at my house, using easipoint.
It has done a really quick job, and once the joints have been struck, looks fantastic.
They do not work with a small nozzle if you do soft sand and cement, and if you do use this mix, you must use lots of plasticiser!
I would not go back to the old method now

We've been supplying Durguns for the past year and have always found them to be spot on. Only problem is that we have had some major issues with supply. We ordered a couple of hundred from the UK distributor and for 4 months we were told that the guns would be arriving in 2 weeks. It became a bit of a running joke around the office. Finally we were assured that the guns would be imminently arriving only to be told that the price had increased by best part of 25% and instead of recieving 200 guns we would only be getting 100 guns. When we asked about the second hundred we were told a "few weeks". Does not affect the quality of the product but we are looking now for a new gun because we cant risk having no stock for the next year.

I generally use Everbuild guns 15quid a pop and i usually get 3 jobs out of them before the trigger sprains. I use 3:1 soft grey or yellow building sand which is the norm in West Yorkshire. you dont need plasticiser it goes through fine. The unfortunate souls who live over the Pennines who get red sand as standard will need lots of plasticiser or the water will just dispel from the mix.

i used an easipoint gun today to point up some brickwork and down here i can personally assure you the local yellow sand does not flow properly even at 3:1 with loads of plasticiser
you might get 1 good tube ,then the next one jams after 2 squirts
1 bag of easipoint did about5 M of flemish bond brickwork so to me that was good value at £25 ish

I filled 30m2 of Indian stone paving today with 3:1 mixed in the mixer. I use one gun and 4 tubes. The 15year old work experience lad filled the tubes and it was filled in 1 1/2 hours without a single blockage(usually get the odd one!). £2.49 bag of cement and 3 bags sand, £1.39 = under 7quid for 30m. I know im lucky with the sand my local independant merchant stocks. and most people wont be able to do it so easily, But keylines soft grey also works without blockages. You just have to find the right stuff then buy a pallet load. The first time i bought a gun I binned it after 10mins and didnt try again for over a year due to blockages. I have used easipoint a few times but find the cost of the product and the labour required to mix small batches in a trug with the drill and paddle makes it a bit steep(good consistent product though.) I mix a barrow full at a time that generally covers 25/30m2 of 4 size stone patio, gun it in leave an hour or so, half round point then blow excess of with the stihl blower at the end of the day. I have only had one call back in 8 years for pointing remedials and thats 5m2 frost damage this year from the -12 winter we had.
