doing a 140sqm block paving job (back garden), but with access to a pavement at the side. So i hired one of the probst block paving barrows, the sort that clamps a whole band of blocks in one go.
Its been an absolute godsend, and saved so much time.
At £800 to buy, its not cheap, and i don't do enough of it to warrant buying, but has anyone on here got one/used one? what did they think of it?

we've got 2 at the moment keep looking at buying a new one to replace our oldest, got that new in 1990 had to do a bit of welding on it but apart from that its still going strong, probst is top quality stuff we use ours even for just 2 packs of blocks if we can get it in saves a lot of double handling etc :)

First one i bought in 1992 died in 1997 then 97 model is still going strong with a few small welds, best thing a paving gang can buy speeds the job up and no double handling blocks MSH :)

i have used them a couple of times, think they only work with normal 200/100 blocks though.
definitely speed up the manual side,1 man can keep me going on the laying ,whereas otherwise i would have to stop and load out too

i thought that was the case.
My mate reckoned it was a waste of money and why didn't we just use a barrow!(he is old school. can't even switch on a computer)
Had to hire from hss. couldn't collect from my local depot as "they are not lift and shift"!
when i got it back to site, it had a flat tyre. rang them and they got another one out and gave me an extra days hire. well worth it!

There's a number of imitators on eBay - they make out they are Probst, but they ain't, and I know the Probst stuff is dear, but in terms of quality, nothing else comes close.

I'm a great believer in a tradesman only being as good as his tools.....
