I know its not quite the right place for this but i know a few people on here do garden maintasnce to so im looking at getting a Echo PB750 backpack blower anyone know if there any good ? i normaly buy stihl but ive seen one of these used cheap an its a little more powerfull

They are just as good as the Stihl backpack's, if a little bit heavier, but, the shoulder straps are a lot more comfortable, runs a lot quieter at full whack than the Stihl equivalent.
Ours tended to have some issues with the control switches, but it's simple enough to fix if they should start playing up

im torn between one of these and a sthil br600 i normally like to buy new but i mostly do fairly small domestic gardens and a handheld blower dose most of the time so im probably going to go for used at the mo but all the sthils i keep seeing are going for nearly the new price !

we've got a stihl hand held and the back pack mounted one, with the mister thing on it as well, most times we use the handheld easier to manouevre and get into awkward bits.

is the Echo one 2 stroke or 4 stroke?
I prefer the ease of getting parts with Stihl, and have 3 x br600's. Coming from 3 x br420's (whjich I still have 2, one as a mistblower) the difference is astounding, especially in the wet. The 600 is an animal.
Not trouble free though like the 4 stroke's, they tend to be sensitive to idling mixture/speed. Seem more economical. I presume the Echo uses a 25:1 mix as opposed to Stihl 50:1 ?
I've got a s/h br 550 here which needs some bits if its any good to you?

That never crossed my mind about the different mix that would just be anoying ! How much do you want for the br 550 ? what dose it need ? and would you be able to post it to me ? im in bristol so its a bit of a drive just for a blower !

Not sure, make me an offer? It's an '09 one, freshly serviced, with a new nozzle end and new engine mounts (tomorrow!!)

to be honest with you after looking on ebay and that to see what they fetch i dont think i can make you a fair offer they go for between 300 and 350 and i can get one brand new for 410 :0 thanks for the offer though

Well to be honest id not really want to pay much more than £200 cos ive got this odd thing that i dont like to spend more than half the new price on a used item :p odd i know maybe its just my way of talking myself in to buying new though
