now i know its been covered before but reading them back when mentioned what people have got etc they arent really single or dual grade lasers. mentions to the topcon RL-H3CL think dan got one but it has slope matching not grade,

now been and looked on topsell and looking at £1600-£2500 for dual grade lasers ouch, need to be able to input say 1% gradient, borrowing a drag grader with trimble control to level soil on rugby pitch so need to be able to set it upto the the 1% fall across the pitch and maybe length ways.

so my question the slope mode of the topcon RL-H3CL requires you to mark the high and low points with the staff?? then how does it project across teh horizon and any recommendations for a cheaper grade laser?

Try pro shot- their lasers are top quality, but about half the price of many competitors. An old friend used to bang on about how great proshot were. He had a proshot system for his excavator or something like that.

Hi Giles, i have a a single grade topcon, does 1% no problem just set the staff at your high point face the laser in the correct plane,or the low point and grade up, put the required grade into unit set staff and off you go the beam is set to the grade for the job, all topcon RLH series are grade lasers presettable,my mate did a 12 acre glass house area with them, they also grade match in manual mode but that is not much use for your job, Speake to Di or Max at toposel as they are spectra dealers now , big range of grade lasers, MSH :)

Forgot to say once grade is put in, it tilts the beam in the % required across whole area in single plane, so once datum is set off you go no calculations to do, just need to know your finished hight and take set up from there MSH :)

should have a sticker some where on it saying when it was last done. or in the box, manual etc

other than that might be an idea to have it done anyway. think its only about £40 to do and then its done for sure. or take it to site and check it against one that is already calibrated

Lasers should be calibrated every 12months ,few knocks and bangs can knock them out of true, especially on site work
