i finally scored a wacker off ebay, belle minipac with 2 hours (supposed use) for £250 :)

trouble is i dont think it runs all that good? Doesnt start easily and once its running when you flick the choke off it cuts out, sometimes wont run with the choke on/off so im confused

take it to your local hire shop and get it serviced, it should not cost any more than £ 30 but that will depend if the engine is bollaxed or not, might just need the air filter cleaning and a new spark plug

if you had thrown another £254 you could of bought a new one which would of started first time and come with a 12 warranty :;):

this is what a new one looks like

Has it stood for a long time? If so, petrol can go stale. It may be worth while emptying whats there and fill with fresh.

I have one of these for light use (shed bases prior to concreting, gravel etc.)
I had a similar problem, which turned out to be paint flaking off the inside of the tank, and blocking the fuel outlet, and carb. Have a look in the tank to see if you can spot any detiritus.

As already mentioned old fuel will cause problems but depending on the engine most running problems can be solved cheaply with a new carburettor diagphram or a governer spring.
There are online guides for this sort of thing 'cos I've seen them but I've been googling and I'll be buggered if I can find them tonight.

Wasn't from up north was it we had a nearly new one stolen just before xmas. Engine held on with 4 bolts 3 the same one different haha. Your engine fell off after a few minutes use they hadn't lock tighted the nuts or used both vibration washers. But ours ran sweetly. They're a nice little tool for difficult places.

If you have to keep the choke on to keep it running then its running too lean.

It may be like Dan said that some crap has partially blocked a jet in the carb so causing fuel starvation. Take the carb off and blow through all the passageways with compressed air if you can.
