Had some work done on my runaround car at the weekend. On motorway this morning and revs stuck on 50. Phoned breakdown service....
Me. "Hallo is that the AA?"
RAC. "No this is the RAC."
Me. "Oops sorry."
RAC. "Address."
Me. M23 Gatwick."
RAC. "No sir, your home adrees please."
RAC. "What seems to be the problem?"
Me. "The revelator is stuck on."
RAC. " And what is the revelator, sir?"
Me. " The thingymagib that makes it go vroom, vroom."
RAC. " i see sir. and is it going vroom, vroom now?"
Me. "No it's just going vrrrrrroooommmmmmmmmmm. it's stuck on."
It only got worse after that. Anyway been towed to garage and hopefully get it fixed. As you can probably tell, i'm not very mechanicaly minded. :p

It gets worse ( nothing is ever straightforward with me ) My garage guy has gone on the missing list. I posted my keys in his letterbox early this morning with a note from the rac telling him what needs doing, went back just and he's gone awol, probably because of the rain he's hit the high stool. Now got to go and hire a cheap as chips car for a week.

cheap as chips car for a week.
good luck. I had to have a run around for a couple of weeks due to a cock up at the garage where we brought the car not registering it in our name (long story)
Got charged £700 for two weeks, and i tried to take it back early for money back, and they wanted more money!
keep us posted on what the problem was with the car

Think it is the air induction pipe had hole in it, plus air, or fuel regulator on way out and pipe was ill fitting. Hired a car for £99 for 7 days. I think that's good ???

after my experience in france last year i feel for you sean
me "hello is that RAC international?"
them "we dont actually have any recovery vehicles in france"
me " "
I take my hat off to them though, they did everything they could to smooth our passage
it just cost me 2500 euros for repairs due to mrs lout overfilling the engine with oil
in 25 years of driving I can change a wheel, and put petrol in,thats as far as i have got
