I have a dewalt laser level, with a finder , and it is not as good as it used to be. it spins a lot slower, and when you try and move the beam a fraction, it moves a lot.
Can anyone recommend one?
Ideally i want one with a visible beam. I like to use it for fencing, by working out the height drop over the lenght of the fence, then dropping each post evenly to give a neat finish. To do this, i set the first post, then shine the laser dot on it, and cast this measurement down on the nest post +/- the drop.
I also use it for setting pins in trenches for footings, and for working out excavations.
So, i need a spinning one, one that i can manually rotate, and self levelling if possible?
any ideas, and also, best place to buy one!

I have a single grade topcon invisible beam, and a specrtra physics manual dual grade, both are great tools would not be with out a laser on drive ways set the %grade turn it towards fall
everything is bang on no over digging, the manual grade is great for digging between 2 point that have a fall between them as you can make it work to fit,
visible beams are more off a interiour laser,
toposell laser service
this is the company i use, laser service £47+vat+parts

I've got a magnetic digger reciver on a mini digger there arn't that great as the bucket has to be as the same angle every time to get accurate reading ok for rough dig out but not for footings or final grade MSH

had the dewalt repaired today. Turns out the drive belt was stretched, and guess what? you cannot replace it without buying the whole unit which is dearer than what i paid for the machine.
To be fair to the guy, he managed to cut the belt, snip 1/4 inch off, and glue it back together. It works a treat, but i will still invest in a good one. Giles sent a great link for one (that LLL recommended too) and its a bargain price, so i will go for that.
cheers guys
