we have 5 car trailers for all various bits of kit etc and normally pull them with our 4x4s, but now and again we tow them with our 7.5 tonner which is 24v system. blows all the bulbs in the 12v trailers

so we currently have a trailer board made up for the wagon with 24v bulbs in it, which works but is annoying when you have perfectly good lights and it gets in way on mini digger ramps etc.

or we put 24v bulbs in all trailer and they harldly glow when on the 12v 4x4 not ideal.

so does anyone know of a box etc we could wire on the truck to make it 12v?

or another solution

i just hook up trailers to our 7.5 tonners as normal, doesnt blow bulbs for some reason. your truck fitter would be able to wire a 12v supply if you want.

take it you know that to tow more than 750kg GROSS weight trailer (ie even if empty) behind 7.5 tonner you need HGV licence??...

by hgv do you mean C1+E, for 7.5 tons or C+E for 7.5 ton or over.

c+e. its a joke to be honest. in the process of looking for a decent caravan for the lads to stay in when working away, but needs to be under 750kg gross weight to comply with their standard car licences. nightmare!

are they friendly chaps haha

just to add; our man 7.5 ton failed its plate few months ago for the grand heinous reason.......... no split pin in the draw pin of the standard tow bar. haha had to book it in again wouldn't accept getting one out the door pocket and fitting it.

You must have had a right hitler of a tester - the guys down here in the local ministry testing station allow us to do small repairs etc while he carries on with the test. Sillly little things like dividers missing inside the rear lamp lenses, headlamp beam adjustments etc etc
