Just on the verge of going for PIC - small 30m2 of drive way. Price is around £3000 to be done by Carrisbrook.

Does anyone have a view of them ? Of all the people we have seen so far these seem the best in terms of price and presentation.

Due to "representations" from certain PIC contractors regarding comments made in The Brew Cabin on previous occasions, I'm reluctant to say anything about any one company, but 100 quid per square metre is a bit bloody pricey.

Have you asked whether it will be their own, cards-in operatives that will carry out the installation, or will they be using a sub-contractor? Several of these so-called "national" companies use locally-based subbies to ubndertake work that is outside their own immediate area, and that can often be a "cause for concern". Some companies are known to hold 'reverse auctions', offering the job to a number of local subbies and then watch them try to underbid one another. In my experience, when work is cost-driven, rather than quality-driven, you usually gets what you pays for.

Naturally, none of the above may apply to the company you mentioned.

Thank for the prompt reply. I quite understand that you can't comment directly in this case.

They say they use their own work force, which is a comfort, and have stage payments over the days it takes to lay.

I think I was slightly out with my measurements - it's probably nearer 7x6, which is about £70 a square meter.
