Whats the code for the honda engine that was replaced by the GXH50. I want to buy a couple of them because I'm sick of the new engine it's totally cr#p and seizes as soon as the warranty is up. I have enough good drums/ bodies and gearboxes to make up a couple of decent machines but want that older engine it's bombproof just change the rings every few years and it goes forever.
Cheers

I have a Belle 140 mixer powered by the Honda G100 engine. It is 11 years old, has been lovingly kept outside in all weathers and has been regularly serviced by David Blunkett.

It starts first time, drinks virtually nothing and has never had a bean spent on it apart from two spark plugs. I think that it may be the engine you seek.

It is built like a brick outhouse and I expect it to continue to run like a sewing machine for many years or Mr Soichiro Honda will be getting a stiff letter from yours truly.

Yes it's a g100 but they're no longer made the new belle's are getting the gx120 because the GXH50 is barely making it past warranty. Ordered 2 of them yesterday for a total of £460 plus vat so thats me sorted for a couple of years till the drums die.

you cant beat a jap engine, my lawnmower is 23yrs old, never had a new plug/oil change and still runs like new. my dad bought it new, ran it for years and then it lay in his shed for 3yrs before i got it and it still started first time. techumsa engine. :D

err...i think tecumseh are american, usually built under licence in italy where they used to be called aspera

good engine though used to use on mountfield mowers a lot.

i have noticed that on a lot of wackers, mixers etc now the honda engine in the black casing is made in thailand or the phillipines and not japan. is there any difference between a black honda and a red one?

The GXH50 is a Honda and it's bloody although it's about the only bad one they make although I did own a 1.5 civic once and that was a mare for parts.
