saw a machine a pc130 working today with a grading bucket on it and welded onto the top of it was what looked like 300mm of scafffold bar then a receiver on top of that for a laser level a presumed so got me thinking.

anyone used them or got one not thinking full trimble control like on a dozer just make grading and draining easier.

seen this sensopilot looks a good bit of kit. might make a bracket for our leica though and give it a go first. our 2008 js160 got delivered today :) only done 1200 hrs looking forward to getting it dirty.

Hi GB , topcon make a good arm control sensor i had one shown to me but never bought one, i own a spectra precision ca600 mag mount i use it on the dipper off my 3 tonner, it it very usefull great magnet never falls off, bough it at SED2004 my mate borrows it alot on his js220 for dyking work and grading,
the worst thing with using one is you need to make shure the dipper is upright and bucket flat to get a constant accurate reading,
the new spectra one is self compensating for dipper angle
this is the company i use for all my survey stuff

just got this from toposells main man
For info - that sensopilot mentioned is the same as our Datum 360 at
£695 + vat including cables and remote (it's a £395 extra on that site - bloody expensive all round!) As for the new trimble LR60
http://www.apache-laser.com/product/bullseye6.htm link to the apache!
This is compatible with machine full control systems so the system can be upgraded. Nice!
cheers
MSH
:)
