Anyone know what the segmented iron features are called seen around the bottom of signposts trees etc.? have a reclaimed one im thinking of using somewhere.

Segmented tree grills usually used in combo with a tree guard. Pricey items we did a labour only job recently where we used 150+ of them I saw the delivery docket and lets say it would have bought you a very nice new Range rover.

The "Tree Guards" i have seen installed on car-park construction look not unlike concrete manhole sections, in fact they were manhole sections.

so worth reclaiminbg then? they were about to be mucked away, four of them so thats two right? ones broke so will have two matching. thanks

If they are modern, they'll probably have only scrap value (which still isn't bad) but the more ornate pre-war and especially the Victorian models command a very attractive price.
