Think i made a mistake this week(and i should know better)
My old belle site mixer (elec, with the wheel at the side for tipping the drum) was coming to the end of it's life, and i was never happy with certain aspects of the machine, especially belle themselves who failed to acknowledge a problem with their drums.
So i decided to try a clarke mixer, and found a dealer who could deliver inc. vat, for £175
mixer arrived. Took three hours to build the thing (even had to put the motor in and line up the belt)
used it today, and what a waste of time. It mixes, until you go to tip the drum using the wheel. The drum just stops at a certain angle and the motor gently hums. It doesn't have enough power to spin over.
Now i know its not the best quality,a nd i don't expect it to last all that long, but surely it should be able to cope with a barrow load of muck?
Anyone else come across this?
