Hi.I want to purchase a trowell for applying sand and cement render and have been looking at the marshalltown ones. In the catalogue it shows finishing trowels and cement finishing trowels.
I take it that the finishing (worn in ) ones are designed for interior plastering and the ones for cement finishing are designed for rendering?? Advise much appreciated as these are not cheap.

it depends on how much you are going to render. if its only a small one off job then it wouldnt be viable to splash out on expensive trowels. you can pick up used trowels at car boots sales etc.

Hi.Thanks for reply but i am going to purchase one anyway so which would be better suited for applying sand and cement prior to rubbing up with wooden float?
Not sure if the worn in ones are designed for render although they would be ok i suppose, just want to be sure before spending £35.00.

you can apply the render with anything, but you need a wood or plastic trowel to float it
cheapies will do for a small area
