A block extraction tool such as this....???
You can get them from Probst UK - 01939 235325 and tell them they owe me a pint!

There all right when the paving isn’t brushed in and there a bugger when they slip and you bash your thumbs together!

The Block Extractor is usually sold as one component of a so-called "Paver's Kit" which includes an alleged "Paver's Mallet" (reasonably useful but not worth buying on its own) and a "Block Alignment bar" (posh crow bar).
Can't comment on price, as I don't sell them. Ask Probst.
