Howdo, New to this site so be gentle please.
Was wondering if anyone out there there has experience of both Stihl ts400's and Partner K750's. Currently run a couple of K750 series 1's but starting to show thier age and need replaced before the silly season. Are Stihls any better in terms of cost versus maintenance and down time. Don't care if they cost more and save money in the long run. Had Makita's before but would rather stick a fork in my eye than get another one. Will be cutting mainly Brick paving and natural stone flags. Hope someone can help. Cheers

stihl ts 400s all the way pablo
i dont know any professionals who don't use them,lightweight,economic,easy to use and safe ,its my favourite tool (well apart from the other special one ,thank you lads :;): )

Im a Partner champion
I have used all makes over the years Dolmar, Makita, Stihl
The Stihls are ok but myself and all my lads prefer the Partner - it has a better balance when cutting and the rev speed seems to be better
The old type Partners used to be very tempremental but the ones in the past 2-3 years are spot on
So LLL now you know a professional who doesnt use a Stihl !!

Bollocks thought this was going to be a one horse race. Totally agree with your comments about the balance of the Partner though.

so are the partners the same sort of money? i cant imagine anything being better then a TS400 with a diamond blade. those makita ones are dreadful though . dont think i have come across partner

I've never heard of Partner.
Those Makita ones are crap though, I agree. It is strange though, as it is the only Makita tool I have come across that is crap. Generally I buy Makita. But as that tool is so crap I am a Stihl TS400 fan too.

I prefer the Stihl ts400, never used a makita, but from all reports from here and lads ive worked with they arent up to much. I didnt like the Partner much, i cant exactly say why, i just didnt feel comfortable with it.

Done deal bought a TS400 this morning with another coming in a fortnight.(Sorry Nigel). Cost £375 +vat which is a decent price. Anyone want to buy some slightly soiled old Partners going cheap?.

Bought it at a local tool wholeseller got a good discount for buying 2 and probably dishonestly told him that I would be needing some expensive blades from him aswell.
