I've been asked to concrete them in the ground as there is one horse who apparently just goes around trying to knock over the fences.
This is the thing that I hired:

This thing certainly doesn't smash stone up like your tractor borer. IMO it is only suitable for making holes in perfect top soil. So I have written to HSS to ask for a refund as I believe their advertisement for this product is misleading. We shall wait and see....!!!
