Hello Tony,
I was looking at purchasing a concrete edge machine. I have seen them advertised by the differant manufacturers as a complete buisness package.
The question is does anyone know if this could be a viable buisness on this side of the atlantic or more specificly South east Ireland.
Thank you.

I know a couple of lads that have invested not-inconsiderable sums of money in these mini slip-form machines and neither of them is exactly rolling in it just yet. There is a low level of demand, but it takes a lot of marketing to attract customers. I'd be happy to put you in touch with these lads, if you so wished.
In Leinster you have, in theory, a better chance, as there is more of a tradition of slipform kerbing in ireland than ythere is in Britain, but then you don't have the population centres to generate the business. Dublin, Waterford, Wexford and then a few outlying townlands. I know there's plenty of self-builds going up around there, but how do you market the slipform to these? Most of them get the house built, and never bother doing anything with the driveway for years. A cousin of mine in Wicklow has been promising to kerb the drive edges on their property for the last 25 years, and it's still never happened!
Draw up a business plan - how many Euro per metre do you need to charge, and how many metres per week do you need to complete to make a living?
