I'm making a short garden path with reclaimed pavers, but they're a mixed batch: all are 100x200mm in area but some are 50mm deep, and some are 60mm deep.

I'm thinking of using the deeper pavers on the edge course, they'll be set in concrete, but just set lower than they would have been if they were the same depth as the others.

I can't think of any reason why that might be a bad idea, but I thought I'd ask if there was anything I was missing.

No problem with that plan - it makes sense to use the thicker pavers for the edge courses then you are not undermining any shallower blocks when laying the body.
