Probably clutching at straws here but does anyone know of any tricks to try and re harden asphalt after an oil spill.
We've had an accident on our own drive, a large bottle of olive oil got spilled on our driveway and it's caused it to go soft as hell. It's only been down a year and I'll be p#ssed if I have to patch it already.
I always knew petroleum based oils were bad news but vegetable oil is news to me!!.
Thanks in advance.

if you have to drive/walk over the area cover it with a board or something and leave it.

otherwise, leave it uncovered and make sure nobody goes on the area

it should harden up in a week or so.

Oil-Technics do a oil remover for tarmac/asphalt not used it myself but it is supposed to be okay. You might be left with a slight shadow of the stain though.
