Hi

I'm in the process of laying my own 55 sqm block paved driveway and am at the bedding layer stage. Following the advice on this site I intend to use the pre-compaction method

Due to time constraints I'm unable to screed the sand and lay large areas of blocks at any one time. So my questions are ;

Is it ok to screed and lay blocks in small sections ?

Will the uncompacted blocks be able to sustain light foot traffic for a few days ?

Thanks in advance

if you must do it this way ,it is best to use scaffold boards to spread the load a bit,ideally keep away from unbound edges
thanks

Thanks for the reply

Minimising the foot traffic, how long can the paving remain uncompacted ?

Thanks

Trouble with that is you will get migration on the end blocks so will be continually taking up the leading edge and relaying.

I know its not ideal, but I think I'm trying to take a bit of confidence from my hope that there must be driveways out there that have been successfully laid - despite doing parts of it arse about face.

Here's hoping.....
